Bought a new RD-5R handheld for my radio collection!
I've already had one digital conversation through the Mt. Seymour repeater which I can just reach from my deck.
Now I have to learn about DMR for amateur radio.
The radio works well enough so far. The only complaints I have are an overly noisy analogue squelch tail and the plug for the remote mic won't seat because the holes in the radio body are too close to the shoulder of the opening, seeming to be off center.
If you know about a good reference on programming this radio I would love to hear from you!
The Amateur Radio Guide to DMR by John Burningham (W2XAB) is a good introduction to DMR.
